New Dell XPS 13 Laptop 2018

Dell is releasing a few new items at CES 2018 starting with its brand new XPS 13 laptop  Dell XPS 13 was completely redesigned and is said to be the fastest 13 inch laptop at the moment and comes with a stunningly elegant white option.

Dell slimmed down the entire volume of the XPS to be 30% thinner at just 0.3 inches (3.4mm) at its narrowest point and a touch lighter at merely 2.67 pounds (1.21kg), that’s practically featherweight, but then again the XPS 13 has always been easy to carry around.

Another major improvement upon this year’s design is the display. Now, the screen is available with an optional 4K Ultra HD (3,840 x 2,160) resolution beneath a glossy, IGZO touchscreen. It’s surrounded by the latest version of Dell’s “InfinityEdge” bezel, which is now 23 percent narrower than the previous generation. The border, which was barely there before, now looks like it’s almost gone.

The new webcam is also now an infrared camera that supports Windows Hello face authentication. If you’d rather not use your head to unlock your laptop, Dell has cleverly integrated a fingerprint reader into the power button that sits just above the keyboard

Dell is particularly proud that the new keyboard deck houses a crystalline silica material that has the white color literally woven into it like a fabric, in nine composite layers.

The XPS 13 is packed with the latest quad-core eighth-generation Intel processor which is a game-changer. Battery life, Dell said, is still pretty awesome, with the new laptop rated at about 11 hours on the most power-hungry configuration: Core i7, 16GB LPDDR3, 1TB SSD and 4K panel. The power-sipping version with a Core i5, 4GB of LPDDR3, 128GB SSD and 1080p screen, will hit 19 hours and 46 minutes, according to Dell.
